Iroko, Chlorophora excelsa

Originating from West Africa. Known as African teak for its color, beauty, and durability but has no true relationship to Genuine Burmese Teak. The wood is not difficult to work and has excellent durability. Rated by the U.S. D.A. forestry service tropical hardwood handbook as extremely durable and resistant to termite and marine borer attack.
